Nicholas Bradley is an associate professor in the Department of English at the University of Victoria, where he teaches courses in Canadian literature and American literature. He has also taught at the University of British Columbia, at Harvard University, and at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre. A small but vibrant city within easy reach of Vancouver and Seattle, Victoria is an ideal place for the study of the multilingual and multicultural literary traditions of the West Coast. Victoria is also one of the driest places in the Pacific Northwest, and the UVic campus is a ten-minute walk from the beach.
